Healthwise is Galway’s longest established healthfood store, having first opened its doors 30 years ago this year, and staying a family-run business ever since.

We specialise in natural and organic wholefoods, dietary supplements, natural bodycare & homecare products

History

Healthwise is run by Aidan and Maria Kelly, but was originally set up by Aidan’s brother & sister in 1979. It was quite an unusual choice of business for those days, but at the time Aidan's mother Betty saw a future in the healthfood business, and 30 years on, she couldn’t have been more right. It was risky venture at the time, and was seen as being a shop for alternative lifestyles, but it has moved much more into the mainstream in recent years.

Today, we are still serving customers who remember when Healthwise arrived in the city, and it's really satisfying to see so many of our customers who supported us when we first opened still shopping with us.
